Glenda Brown is Artistic Director of Allegro Ballet of Houston and owns and directs Allegro Academy of Dance in Houston, Texas.  Ms. Brown is a founder of Regional Dance America and has served on the National Board of Regional Dance America since 1987.  She was President of RDA from 1991 until 2001, coordinated the first ever RDA National Festival in Houston, Texas with over 2,000 dancers in attendance, served as President of the Southwest region for twenty years, and is now a Director Emeritus of RDA.  Ms. Brown directed the Craft of Choreography Conference sponsored by RDA from 1987 until 2000.  She founded the Glenda Brown Choreography Project in 2001 and directs The Project each summer for dancers, composers and choreographers.  Ms. Brown is Director of Young! Tanzsommer/Austria, a summer dance program in Austria for dance companies across the United States to perform, tour, and take classes.

Vanessa Brown is Artistic Director and manager of Allegro Ballet of Houston.  She has been associated with Allegro Ballet since 1974 as dancer, teacher and Associate Director.  She attended the University of Oklahoma on a dance scholarship.  in 1997, she helped coordinate the National Regional Dance America Festival held in Houston, Texas with 89 performing dance companies and over 2,000 attendants.  Ms. Brown is on faculty of Allegro Academy of Dance in Houston and is a popular teacher for studios in the Houston area.  Vanessa is Associate Director of the Glenda Brown Choreography Project.  She is Co-Director and has been a member of the Young! Tanzsommer/Austria staff since 1995.

A New York City-based choreographer and teacher for over twenty years, her ballets have toured nationally and been presented in China and Austria.  Leslie's award-winning choreography has been supported by National Endowment for the Arts and numerous state arts councils.   She has been on the faculty of USA/International Ballet Competition dance faculty and was Director of Baltimore Ballet.  She has adjudicated many Regional Dance America Festivals.

Currently Paul is the Theater Critic for the Orange County Register and is faculty at the School of Communications at California State University.  He is a former Assistant Professor of Dance at University of California Irvine and has been on staff at the Glenda Brown Choreography Project for ten years.



Thom is simply everyone's favorite ballet teacher.  He is one of the most energetic and inspiring teachers across the U.S. Extensively trained in Vaganova, Cechetti, and Bournonville techniques, he trained at the Dallas Civic Ballet and School of American Ballet.  Thom has served as the Artistic Director of Ballet Dallas, Ballet Master for Hubbard Street Dance-Chicago and others.  He has been teaching for 30-plus years nationally and internationally, and has been guest teacher at Broadway Dance Center, associate ballet master for Les Trockadero de Monte Carlo and Hubbard Street Chicago.  He joined the faculty of Allegro Academy of Dance and Allegro Ballet of Houston in 2010.  He is one of the master teachers for Young! Tanzsommer/Austria. Thom teaches an invigorating, motivating class that the young dancers truly enjoy.


Paula has studied ballet with many well-known ballet masters and has performed solo and principal roles of more than 45 major works including all the classics.  She has also performed many contemporary works by Balanchine, Agnes DeMille, and Alvin Ailey.  She has worked with many renowned choreographers and is currently a member of the Wylliams/Henry Danse Theatre and is principal dancer/ballet mistress with the Albany Berkshire Ballet.  She currently choreographs for the Kansas City Ballet and the Albany Berkshire Ballet.  She is the Chairman of the Dance Department at the University of Missouri/Kansas City.  Paula is a favorite with dancers and choreographers alike.



Carly began her early training at Wynn Twins School of Dance.  As a member of their company, she was a Dance America/Dance Olympus national champion awarded Most Promising Performer, later winning the title of Senior Dancer of the Year in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Snelling apprenticed with Tremaine's Performance Company and performed with their faculty at national dance competitions.

Graduating with honors from Oklahoma City University, she received a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree in Dance Performance under the direction of Jo Rowan.  Snelling was the female deputy of the American Spirit Dance Company, performing in the Home for the Holidays Show, Spring Show, and Choreography Show as well as in domestic tours with the company in Oklahoma and Branson, Missouri.

She performed at Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago, Illinois in Phil's Smooth Day and Night and has choreographed for theater productions of Cinderella, Fiddler on the Roof, Give My Regards to Broadway, and Kilroy was Here.  Snelling performed for the Miss Missouri-Miss USA Pageant, as well as for numerous Veteran's organizations, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, WWII Veterans, and the Korean War Veterans.  She has also performed at many NFL halftime shows for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Snelling has toured internationally in Austria, Italy, and Germany with Remix Dance Company.  She is currently a professional dancer for Inaside Chicago Dance, while also holding the positions of Jazz/Contemporary Director and the Competition Director at Hinsdale Dance Academy.  She has taught, choreographed, and held master classes throughout the Midwest, while also traveling nationally as a full-time competition judge for BravO! National Dance and Talent Competition.
